Butterfly Reports

Butterflies are monitored around the grounds of the Medina Valley Centre throughout the year and a transect walk has been carried out between April and September, since 1988. The grounds are divided into 10 areas and species are recorded from each one, as shown below.




The data we collect is shared with Butterfly Conservation and the United Kingdom Butterfly Monitoring Scheme.

We also take part in the Big Butterfly Count and the national results for 2012 can be found here.
