Environmental Studies Vehicle - Eco Challenger

The Eco-Challenger is a uniquely converted LDV van, which is equipped with a variety of innovative field survey equipment designed for school use. It has an off-site power source using 2 solar PV panels and a wind generator to charge batteries. 

The vehicle, with a field studies tutor, is available to visit your school, community group or public event throughout the year. The tutor will plan an activity or event in consultation with you 'on location'.

How can we support your school in learning outside the classroom? Here are some of the sessions that we have run recently:

• Carrying out a 'biodiversity' audit of a school's grounds
• Making solar powered toys
• Hands-on investigation of locally found minerals, rocks & soils
• Activities for RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch
• Beach and Chine exploration
• Pond dipping

Costs for 2012: £100 for half a day   £170 for a full day

The cost includes use of the van's facilities and equipment in addition to the tutor's services.
