A local expert on galls, leaf miners & rust fungus kindly gives us access to his records. Many new and exciting species are found in the Medina Valley on a regular basis.

Latest finds at Medina Valley Centre:

19^th August 2007

• A rust fungus Coleosporium tussilaginis (Basidiomycota; Uredinales) on Red Bartsia
• A rust fungus Puccinia puntiformis (Basidiomycota; Uredinales) on Creeping Thistle

17^th July 2007

• A leaf miner Cnephasia incertana (Lepidoptera; Tortricidae) on Dipsacus fullunum
• Leaf spots Ramularia calcea (Ascomycota; Dothideales) on Gleckoma hedelacea
