Hampshire and Isle of Wight Solar Challenge 2008
18 teams of finalists representing schools from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight took part in the Solar Challenge in Winchester.
Many congratulations to the team from Swanmore School came runner up with their innovative 'Robo-turtle' solar powered working model (see photo below).
The competition is a way of raising children's awareness of renewable energy sources and environmental concerns.The Medina Valley Centre organises the Island leg of this event, now in its fifth year.
