John Muir Award 'DISCOVER' activities at Medina Valley Centre

Before their visit a school will use:

1 Google Maps to locate the Medina Valley, the Medina Valley Centre and features including Dodnor Creek, the estuary, Newport.
2 The Medina Valley Centre website to find out more about the life of John Muir.

On the first day of their visit, children will travel along the estuary either on the water (canoe, kayak, sailing) or by walking along riverside paths (and maybe a night hike!). They will use sensory activities ... listening to birdsong, making colour palettes, doing a blindfold trail ... to make them aware of the diversity and beauty of the living things around them.
