Three A Level Biology courses at the MVC over past 5 days

Students from Heathfield Community College, Tomlinscote School and Walthamstowe Hall attended A level Biology field courses on the Isle of Wight, staying at the Medina Valley Centre, each run by a field study tutor from the Centre.
This Privet hawkmoth (see photo), was caught in a mercury vapour trap set to demonstrate one of the methods used to catch mobile species. During the two nights of trapping an Elephant hawkmoth, a Small Elephant hawkmoth, and a Poplar hawkmoth were some of the species caught and released.
