Present WeatherThe Medina Valley Centre (Newport) houses an automatic weather station on the roof of the main building, which logs data every 15 minutes. The Centre also has a Stevenson Screen, which provides a standardised environment in which to measure temperature and humidity. This screen is checked daily at 9:00am to provide a long standing record of minimum and maximum temperatures, humidity and rainfall, using our standard meteorological rain gauge.

Recording the weather daily, at the same time is important to produce records that highlight local trends and help to forecast through mean values, collated for that station over years of data.
The daily readings are collated at the end of every month and the monthly totals and averages are added to a display in the reception area at the Centre.
