- The Lukely Brook is a tributary of the River Medina and has its source in the Island’s central chalk ridge (Map showing all Isle of Wight rivers)
- The discharge from the Lukely Brook increases dramatically when the water table rises as the chalk aquifer fills after prolonged rain. The video clip was made less than half a mile from the source, and residents are taking the precaution of placing sand bags while the river is in spate
