Parkhurst Forest

The surviving areas of ancient woodland in Parkhurst Forest once formed part of the extensive Royal Frest of Parkhurst which extended as far west as Porchfield and as far south to the edge of the Downs. There is extensive records of the management of the forest from the 12th century, although there was little or no management taking place.
