How to get to the Centre

Where to find us

Medina Valley Centre is in a stunning, riverside location on the beautiful Isle of Wight. We are about 2 km north of Newport, giving us easy access to all parts of the Island.

Getting to the Island 

It’s easier than you might think…

 

From Portsmouth

By Foot: There are regular trains to Portsmouth Harbour station from a variety of locations, giving easy access to Wightlink’s high-speed passenger ferry service (just a short walk along the platform). There is also a large coach and bus station in Portsmouth just a short walk from the ferry. This high-speed ferry service takes you to Ryde Pierhead. Hovertravel also operates a regular crossing from Southsea to Ryde Seafront. Their Winter timetable (running from 1st November 2018 to 31st March 2019) can be downloaded here.

By Vehicle: Wightlink operates a vehicle ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne, which can also be used by foot passengers. Click here for 2018 & 2019 timetables.

 

From Southampton

By Foot: There is a free bus service that runs from Southampton Central train station direct to Red Funnel‘s high-speed passenger service otherwise known as the Red Jet, this arrives on the Island in Cowes.

By Vehicle: The free bus service takes you to outside Red Funnel’s passenger ferry and across the road is Red Funnel‘s vehicle ferry to East Cowes, which can also be used by foot passengers.

From Lymington

By Foot: Lymington Pier train station links directly to the Wightlink Lymington Ferry terminal in the New Forest, which goes to Yarmouth. Click here for 2018 and 2019 timetables.

By Vehicle: The same Lymington to Yarmouth Ferry is a vehicle ferry.

 

Transport on the Island

For school groups arriving by foot, we can arrange transport to meet you at the ferry terminal and bring you to the Centre, as well as transport to take you around the Island.
